ARE YOU FACING YOUR SECOND, THIRD OR FOURTH DUI?

With each DUI conviction, the penalties increase. You could face higher fines, more jail time, the loss of your license for a significant period of time and other penalties. When you have had multiple DUI convictions, it becomes even more important that you have a lawyer on your side who can ensure that your rights are protected.

I am attorney Chris W. Blaylock, and I have experience defending clients from serious, complex criminal charges. Penalties For Multiple DUIs

If you are convicted of multiple DUIs in California, you could face serious penalties. This includes:

  • For your second conviction, you could face more than $1,000 in fines and up to a year in jail. Your license could also be suspended for up to two years and you may need to have an ignition interlock device placed on your car, at your own expense.
  • With a third conviction, you could have more than $5,000 in fines and up to a year in jail. Additionally, you could lose your license for three years and require the placement of an ignition interlock device on your vehicle.
  • With your fourth conviction, you could face felony charges. This can result in more than $5,000 in fines, up to 16 months in state prison and the loss of your license for four years. You may also be required to participate in a 30-month alcohol treatment program.

The above penalties can become even more severe if anyone was injured in an accident because you were driving while impaired.

Regardless of the number of DUI convictions you have, you want an attorney by your side to help fight these charges. A conviction can impact your life today and far into the future. As your defense lawyer, I will work to ensure that your rights are protected and I will fight the charges to help you avoid penalties, if possible.
